Haircolor that doesn’t always require bleach, This is a much needed conversation these days. With all the allergies people have today and sensitivities to cosmetics etc. I wanted to bring up how lighteners have a place in hair color for sure! Today we have non ammonia bleach yet lightening is taking away and diffusing color. There are gentle ways to lighten hair for sure. If done correctly one can get a low volume lightener and have a soft natural result.
There is a huge menu out there of all the colors you can be. The current trend of the “UNICORN HAIRCOLORS” which are great on Instagram and make for a great shot in that moment in time when that picture was taken in salon when the hair was fresh and vibrant. It’s fun and younger people in general are drawn to it to stand out and have fun with. That is awesome. Here is the but…..a lot of these colors clash with skin tones and eye color and as one ages these things are important in the beauty world. If you have pale white skin and do a yellow you can look older and tired. These “unicorn colors” are bleached out with high volume bleaches and then direct dyed with the vibrant greens, yellows, blues. purples etc. Then in 3 weeks that color is dulled fast due to the color is not permanent and its on bleached hair. So the cycle of keeping the color vibrant starts. Then there is some damage due to the hair getting dry quickly and sometimes breaking.
I am posting colors today of clients I have done with no lighteners just .non-ammonia hair colors and/or shine gloss. Trends come and go for sure. I am pointing out in the menu of colors out there that the other options of a trends that never goes away is rich, shiny, healthy, classic, long lasting hair color. These clients have color that lasts up to 4 months. No refresh needed. Just pointing out that pretty, natural colors never go out of style.
